Ancient Astrolabes
Griffin has been researching the flood waters that surround Grimsdon. He reads about a device called an astrolabe which he can use to measure the rising sea level. Help Griffin make an astrolabe and measure the height of objects.

To level up and receive the secret code
to level four you must:
-read chapters 9 to 12
-earn 100XP
-complete the gate challenge
with a score of 85% or higher

Measure height using an Astrolabe 40XP

Find out how to use an astrolabe to measure the height of objects. Do your own research on the internet or in the library.
Gate Challenge
​
Using your knowledge of astrolabes, measure the height of the goal posts on our back oval. Write a procedure for Griffin explaining how to use an astrolabe to measure the height of objects. You better use photos of someone using the device or good diagrams to support each step. Publish the procedure to your blog for 30XP and earn 20XP for correctly measuring the height of the goal posts. Lose 1XP for every 50cm your answer is out. Earn a score of 85% or higher to receive the code to level 4
